Visiting Professor from UTAR, Malaysia

Year 2017 CTBC built partnership with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (abbreviated as UTAR) which is a private university in Malaysia and we started off by having 4 students who applied for the exchange program collaboration between both institutions. Students went to one of the campuses which locates in Kamper an award-winning campus in the state of Perak, and the other one locates in Sungai Long in the state of Selangor. However, we’ve had a lovely professor who were there giving them full support whether it is academically or about living. We invited Ms. Kuah Yoke Chin (Josephine), Head of Finance Department, Faculty Business and Finance whom had help a lot to our students, to our campus in December 2019.

Besides visiting the school, Ms. Kuah also works on a research project with CTBC Professor Chris Hu, the Dean of Research and Development. Along with it, we have arranged Ms. Kuah to have a couple of talk sessions about Islamic finance situation to our graduate, and international students, also a seminar with faculty to share her research methods. During her stay, Ms. Kuah indulges herself fitting to the life in Taiwan very well and knowing many students by chances.

The Director of International Center has brought up more co-partnership ideas with Ms. Kuah to provide more opportunities to both of our students and to widen the learning diversity. We hope more and more of you can get involved in the near future.
